Portofino's is disgusting. The restaurant reeked of sewage during the whole meal, which was off-putting enough.... until a bug crawled out of my aunt's salad as soon as the waiter set it down. No, thanks. I'm good.

Delicious homemade Italian food at a very reasonable price. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in OKC.

Homemade bread, pasta, and sauces! Best Italian in OKC by far!! Service is always great and the prices can't be beat! If you are looking for chain restaurant italian, this place isn't for you. If you want an authentic italian meal, this is the best!

The best Italian food. The bread is unbelievably good. Very generous portions and affordable. I grew up in NY and had lots of good Italian food and this food is better than most. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We met the owners and they are wonderful. Must eat here.

This is based off a to-go order experience just as an fyi. The restaurant seemed very nice inside and I had excellent service for my to go order. I'd never been before so I just tried the Italian Sampler: lasanga, manicotti, and ziti. They have very cheap lunch prices and you get two homemade rolls and a salad with your meal as well. Their tomato house dressing wasn't half bad. Can't really say it was good enough to return but for the price it was okay. I also highly doubt the food is made fresh daily.

The food is good and priced right. The wait staff is friendly. The meals are delivered in a timely manner. Good casual place to stop without reservation.

Salad was good size, fresh , and served promptly . Friendly and attentive staff. Food was good, thick rich sauce. I measure a restaurant as by if I would return or not--- I would return here when I am in town again.

I'm not sure what PortoFino's Kelli was reviewing but this is not the place she wrote about. The service was prompt and my waiter was quick to answer all my questions about the menu. My meal started with a dinner salad and fresh hot garlic knots. The salad was fresh and lightly dressed. What a nice change of pace to most places that drown the salad in an effort to hide the salad itself. The Tuscan combo was billed as a chicken, shrimp, Canadian bacon, and spinach creation dressed in a red sauce over penne pasta with mozzarella cheese. The kitchen did not disappoint. The bounty of large shrimp swimming with chunks of chicken and little islands of spinach was not a disappointment. I am only in the area for a short while on business but I will recommend this place to my friends that live in the area. The only downside to this place was the music that was playing to loud in the cavernous restaurant. As another side note to Kelli, the bathroom facilities were quite will kept up.

Great service, excellent prices. I had the salmon piccata, and my daughter had the ravioli. The tossed salads were not impressive, but the main dishes were very good. Inexpensive wine and desserts as well. We left happy.

This place is wonderful. The lady who said her marinara tasted like fish sauce must have it confused wth On The Border's terrible service & crappy food. The place is beautiful, complete with antique chandeliers hanging from the ceilings in each section, a wooden boat that sits 20+ people in the middle of the floor, stone & brick accents on the walls & partitions, and an extremely inviting wooden bar, complete with a wine rack on the wall. The manager or owner treat you like family as soon as you walk in the door, making you feel genuinely welcome. The food is to die for, everything is made from scratch & doesn't come out of a can like Olive Garden. Their house dressing is like nothing you've ever tasted & their bread is baked fresh. The prices are VERY reasonable, in fact I'm surprised they don't charge more, with everything being homemade. The only complaint if I had any, is that the wine selection leaves something to be desired, but I am admittedly more picky than most, as my brother is a wine expert. Fantastic place all around-a hidden treasure in OKC!

The young man that served us was very pleasant and attentive. I suspect he was new to the job, but he really did good. The food was just ok. I had the manicotti, and found myself still hungry at the end of the meal. The salad had probably been prepared much earlier as the lettuce was not very crisp. The two sleeves of manicotti were small and I suspect prepared in a microwave, but maybe not. Instead of serving garlic bread, the serve fresh baked rolls. The rolls were large and quite good, but I would have rather had garlic bread. It's an Italian restaurant after all! They do have garlic bread, but you have to order it as an appetizer apparently. My mom had the Tortellini Mode Mio and there was WAY too much sauce. There was probably at least 3/4 of a cup of thick sauce left on the plate.

Was recommended by an employee that this was one of the best Italian restaurants in OKC. Boy, was he mistaken. Think twice before venturing off to Portofino. Lobster Ravioli very thick and doughy, Chicken Marsala very over done, Italian sampler tasted like there was spoiled ricotta and angel hair meat sauce marinara tasted off. Desserts were still frozen. Very disappointed. On a good note: bathrooms were clean and lemonade was decent. Think twice!!!

Driving around looking for different places to eat has become a fun game for my husband and myself. Tonight was a prime example of finding someplace wonderful in an unexpected location. We were out west of OKC heading to a tutoring job I had out that way. Not much food wise that was unique yet affordable (near end of paycheck....budget limits food explorations, doncha know). Pulling out our trusty Yelp app, we found this listing. Single dollar Italian, we doubted quality of said price range but hey, it was an adventure and had to beat McDonald's, right? Let me tell you, I am so glad we stopped there. The building seemed older and not what I would expect from a restaurant. Big statues outside, and seemingly plain yet huge green doors. We did not expect a second entry within, with yet bigger green doors (lovely tone of green by the way. I want to paint my door that color now if husband and landlord agree), It was like walking into a patio garden type enclosure. There was a large boat sitting within a fountain. A real boat! The tables were spaced out for intimate conversation, and the huge space just let me fell like we were out among decorative walls enjoying a casual night out in a lovely romantic setting. No crowded, too close tables. I loved it. The staff were friendly and so attentive. They had raspberry tea which pleased my husband to no end. The prices were very affordable as well. Most of the items were under $10 and included bread and salads. We have paid three times that for much less food and not near the flavor as this place. There was oil and I think balsamic vinegar (not sure on that) there at the table to mix at your own ratios. Dipping the bread into that was fun as we tried different combinations. I enjoyed the house dressing on the salad as well, and recommend trying it. I got the Florentine chicken which had spinach, chicken, and ham with spaghetti and I can't remember what the sauce was called but it delighted my taste buds. My husband had the Chicken cacciatore which had mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, chicken, spaghetti, and marinara sauce. I got a bite of it and mmm, delish as well. The only drawback of this place is the drive but if you want a nice affordable place, you must come to this one before they get recognized for how good they are and raise their prices. I would totally pay more anyway (when I have the funds), but don't miss out on this one.

Very good food and great atmosphere. The salad was fresh and crisp and the bread was delicious. I had the Chicken Piccata the chicken was cooked perfect and just the right amount of lemon. I would definitely go back

I just tried calling both phone numbers listed on their crappy website and the number on yelp. No answer. I was going to order over the phone. Never eaten here before.

Nice place! If you're looking for good Italian food at a reasonable price, this is the place to go. The food was pretty good, I had the eggplant Parmesan and fried calamari, both were delicious. The place is huge and quite empty when we went there on a Saturday around 5. The decor is really unique and interesting. My only complaint is that it's kind of dark inside.

Best Italian food ever!!! Came into Oklahoma late and was too tired to go anywhere so asked the front desk guy which place delivers to the hotel. He gave me the flier for Porto Fino's. We called in our order which consisted of 1 Stromboli, 1 meatball sub and some fried calamari. 15 minutes later our order was here piping hot and the best Italian ever. Too bad we are only here for one night I would have liked to try their other items. Maybe on our way back through Ok city we can stop and try it again.

This is real deal Italian. Fresh and homemade. I had no idea that alfredo sauce could taste so good. My wife thinks this is the only restaurant that makes a better eggplant parmigiano than she does. Definitely a hidden gem in OKC.

We ate here for dinner as a family. The outside is bright green and has a large horse in the front. Appears to be an old Chinese restaurant perhaps. The inside is large and spacious with a boat in the middle of the room. Looks almost like a long John's boat. It is a little dimly lit but not to the point you can't see. The wait staff is extremely nice and on point. The only issues are with the food. Granted, it's not horrible. It's just from frozen and processed. My chicken cordon bleu was not a whole piece of chicken wrapped in ham and cheese....instead it was chicken pieces cut up on a bed of noodles with a small piece of ham lunch meat on top. Not what I expected but it tasted ok. Not spectacular but "ok". Cheese sticks were extremely fried and tasted of grease. Other foods were about same. Ladies bathroom was about 100 degrees inside of it and had a very unpleasant odor. Almost like sewage. This place isn't horrible....but not a place I'd choose to go again when there are so many choices in okc.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
